It's 2020! Time for resolutions that will stick.



The new year has come and gone and I'm left thinking about my yearly resolutions. Now, I actually really love the idea of the resolution. But I don't really like them. I mean, every year people make these massive wide-spread proclamations that usually have something to do with bettering themselves, and then by the time February rolls around, all motivation is lost and well, you know the rest.


Anyway, my point is that I was one of those people. Year after year, I made these massive, sweeping resolutions and let's face it, if I'd followed through with all of them, I'd be the trimmest, unicycle-riding, healthy-eating, ukelele-playing, soberest person who could ever do the splits.


But this year things are different. My thinking about resolutions is different. I no longer think of them as things I must do...no, this year, I have something I never had in the past. I have a plan. That's all resolutions are, aren't they? Goals with no plan.


Except now I have one and I'd like to share it with you all. So without further ado...well, not much more ado, I present . . .


YEAR 2020 RESOLUTION PLAN:


Resolution #1: Reduce my carbon footprint.

Plan of Attack: No air travel for the entire 2020 year.


Resolution #2: Eat Healthy

Plan of Attack: Plant a food forest & herbal garden in my yard and eat my bounty.


Resolution #3: Find Peace

Plan of Attack: Increase my meditation practice to 30 minutes per day.


Resolution #4: Move forward in my writing career

Plan of Attack: Complete a draft of my next novel.


Resolution #5: Be part of my community

Plan of Attack: Find a place in my community to volunteer at least once a week.
